Thanks for the birthday wishes, people.

Monday night acerbicmuffin and I watched Audition, a film by Takashi Miike. Brrr. Seriously screwed up movie - even the Muffin was creeped out! Tuesday was really horribly hot, so I did nothing all day. That evening we drove to the beach, collecting expoduck on the way. We were actually on the beach at the very moment the cool change arrived: the air was hot, still and heavy,  and then a cool breeze rose up from over the bay. It didn't stay a light breeze, but gusted strongly, tossing seagulls into the air, and pushing the water a young boy had just kicked at his sister back into his own face (ha!). The Muffin, Expo and Em were wading in the shallows, and they all turned into the breeze, sighed, and raised their arms at the exact same time...

Had lunch with a few old high school friends yesterday, which was good. Swapped my borrowed Skeptic magazines for a fresh bunch. Also bought discs 2 and 3 of Invader Zim at Classic Comics, who had them nearly 20 bucks cheaper than most other places! Filthy humans!

Last night we went to the Night Market in town, with expoduck and her boy. Main impression: horrendously crowded. I wasn't feeling the best, and the seething press of humanity wasn't helping much. Briefly ran into lokicarbis, the Muffin got a few nice skirts, and then we hightailed it to the Bedford for dinner.

And so to bed.
